Are you one of those guys who spent hours in the arcade pumping quarters into the Time Crisis or House of the Dead machines? I know I am. I’ve always enjoyed first person shooters and wished game companies would successfully port them to home systems. Some adaptations have been decent, but their downfall has always been the guns. They were never precise, weighted properly, or accurate. The Nintendo Wii and Playstation Move showed promise in that department, but I have been let down by Wii shooters thus far. We have already gotten our hands on the Playstation move months ago, but we didn’t know how good it would be for first person shooters. As FPS fans, our prayers have been answered. Read more
Sony recently held an event at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. The event was fantastic! Sony demonstrated many of the most anticipated games due to be launched in time for this Holiday season. Many of the video game industries biggest developers were present and provided their own demonstrations. DJ Hero 2 and the new Guitar Hero were on display with big sound and big visuals. Gran Turismo 5 and Kill Zone 3 were both being hyped up with fantastic set ups including 3D driving simulators and real Kill Zone soldiers marching around. Read more
Sony recently set up an exhibit in Tokyo at the “Tokyo Game Show” which opened on Thursday. Sony’s exhibit demonstrated 3D gaming as well as it’s newly launched motion sensor controller, the Playstation Move. Sony also demonstrated some of their upcoming highly anticipated games. Fans were awed by the driving sim Gran Tourismo 5, and the first person shooter Killzone 3. Gamers at the show lined up in droves to test out the demos. Read more
When it comes to the newest TV technology, 3DTV, there are many challenges which exist for manufacturers and program developers. Consumers have complained about the inconvenience of wearing 3D glasses, and the high costs associated with the glasses and the TV sets. The new models will continue to offer the same advanced features and functions of the current models, but with approximately 33 percent more capacity and at compelling price points. This increased HDD space addresses the growing demand for the digital content offered on PlayStation®Network, where more than 1 billion pieces of content have been downloaded as of July 2010. On Saturday, August 14, Sony Computer Entertainment Canada (PlayStation Canada) will be offering consumers the chance to demo the PlayStation Move, the most precise, ultra-sensory motion experience on the market.
It officially launches September 17, dedicated PlayStation field representatives will be on site at over 30 Best Buy stores across Canada from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., giving consumers an opportunity to demo “the Move” before it hits retail shelves this fall.
