Toronto Maple Leafs sign Clarke MacArthur

This past Saturday August 28th, 2010 general manager Brian Burke signed unrestricted free agent Clarke MacArthur to a one year deal worth $1.1 million dollars. Pittsburgh Penguins decide not to re-sign Bill Guerin

Earlier this week, general manager Ray Shero of the Pittsburgh Penguins let winger Bill Guerin know that the team will not be re-signing him back.

Bill Guerin was brought over from the New York Islanders in the 08-09 season at the trade deadline, when he arrived he instantly found chemistry playing on the top line with Crosby and Kunitz. He had 7 goals and 8 assists during the Penguins run to the Stanley Cup Finals when they won in 2009. He was also a great veteran presense to have in the locker room cause everyone loved the guy. Darrelle Revis demanding $162 million over 10 years?

It has been 24 days now since All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis stated he was holding out for a new contract. Revis wants to be the highest paid cornerback in the NFL. The Jets have other ideas.

Revis still has three years left on his contract. He has allready made $15 million in his first three years and is due to make another $21 million over the next three. He isn’t happy and doesn’t look like he will report any time soon to camp. The Jets have been trying to sign their All-Pro cornerback for the last six months now but nothing seems to be getting done. There are now reports that have come up that the Nuggets are willing to move J.R. Smith. He is in his final year of his contract that is paying him $6.03 million dollars.

Right now the Nuggets are in a big mess especially cause they don’t have a General Manager at the moment, plus the Carmelo rumors are flying around like crazy and now this. J.R. Smith had a very solid year last season averaging 15.4 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals a game. J.R. Smith has been in the rumor mill since he came to Denver back in 2006.
