Nissan Canada and the Canadian Football League (CFL) Bring the 100th Grey Cup

The 100-day countdown to the sold out 100th Grey Cup has commenced, and Nissan Canada is proud to once again be the official vehicle partner for the Canadian Football League (CFL); helping drive the teams and fans to its most exciting season yet leading up to the 100th Grey Cup. Nissan’s involvement with the CFL dates back to 2007, and in view of this extraordinary season, Nissan’s support has expanded. As the sponsor for seven CFL teams, Nissan will be supplying the teams with several trucks and SUVs as official team vehicles, and participating in numerous fan-focused events across Canada.

The 100 day countdown to the 100th Grey Cup officially started on August 18th, and the coming months will include a series of Nissan-supported events to rally CFL fans, including: the Grey Cup 100 Train Tour presented by RONA , the 100th Grey Cup Festival, and the continuation of the “Drive Your Team” Facebook contest.

Let the journey to the Grey Cup begin – The Grey Cup 100 Train Tour
With the support of Nissan Canada and its dealers in select cities, the CFL will conduct a national train tour starting in September and running until November. The 12-car train will make six stops for exclusive dealership events on the “Mobile Tour,” where guests at the Nissan dealerships have an exclusive personal photo opportunity with the Grey Cup. Nissan will also have a presence at 10 “Fan Celebrations” at train stations in each CFL market, plus Ottawa and Halifax, where it will host “Innovation Sessions.” These are intimate and interactive interview sessions with CFL alumni, and other personnel who have innovated the game of Canadian football. The Nissan Family Zone
As the automotive partner for the CFL, Nissan is supporting the 100th Grey Cup Festival commencing November 15 in Toronto. For 10 days and 11 nights, the city of Toronto will celebrate the 100th Grey Cup through various events in the downtown core, including the 100th Grey Cup Festival Family Zone hosted by Nissan. Yonge-Dundas Square will be taken over by Nissan and bustling with excitement with plenty of activities for the whole family. The Nissan Family Zone will include the Nissan NEXT Centre, featuring the all-new Altima, several vehicle displays, Innovation Sessions, a mini-football field for your children to learn and play, food stations and live entertainment.

Drive Your Team to Win
The Nissan “Drive Your Team” Facebook contest is in full-swing, and will run into the post-season. Through an all-new Nissan Canada Facebook application (apps.facebook.com/nissandriveyourteam), CFL fans can show their passion for their favourite CFL team* by posting videos of themselves reciting the official team chant, and enter for a chance to win the grand prize – a trip for two to the sold out 100th Grey Cup in Toronto this November.
