Playstation 3 To Get 3D Blu-ray playback!

At a press event held yesterday, Sony CEO Howard Stringer announced that the software update that grants the PS3 with 3D Blu-ray playback capabilities  is being pushed back from September to October.  Stringer also announced that there would be 3D bundles including Alice in Wonderland 3D and Michael Jackson’s This Is It: 3D Enhanced Edition. The Green Hornet and Spiderman 3D titles are also due to come out on 3D sometime in the next year, after their theatrical releases.

For those with a 3D television, Sony has began offering several games in 3D. MLB the Show, and Motorstorm are both available in 3D. 3D gamplay works as long as users have firmware 3.30 or newer loaded onto their console. Some other games have been put into 3D in limited forms. Sony also confirmed that a Google TV-powered device is coming to the US before year’s end.
